GSMA North America (NA) & GSMA Latin America (LA) Regional Interest Groups (RIGs) are pleased to announce the first GSMA Americas Mobile Conference to be held from June 21st to 23rd, 2010. The two RIGs will be co-locating their meetings in Miami, Florida, USA at the Intercontinental Miami Hotel.

The GSMA LA Plenary Meeting #31, last of 2009, took place in Santa Cruz, Bolivia from December 1st to 3rd. This event was possible thanks to the support of our operator member Entel, who kindly acted as host. During these 3 working days several meetings were held, in which the member operators and suppliers participated actively with an attendance over 150 executives.

Without a doubt the economic crisis, which we are fortunately coming out of, affected all socioeconomic sectors, all countries, markets and industries. The telecommunications sector did not go unscathed.

It is already effective in Brazil, Mexico, Dominican Republic and Ecuador and in the following months, other countries will be added. Changes of operators vary by 1% of total number of fixed and mobile telephony users in average.
